Brief descriptions of the main beaches on the Island
Arenal D’en Castell

Beautiful horseshoe bay, with good restaurants and snack bars with entertainment in varying price ranges. Beach bars and water sports. Only two large hotels, mostly self catering apartments and villa’s. Good choice of supermarkets.

Binbeca

Very small beach, good walks along the cliffs. Choice of restaurants and snack bars. Mostly self catering villa’s and apartments

Cala Blanca

Small beach serving one hotel very near and lots of self catering apartments. Restaurants beach bar and snack bars.

Cala n’ Bosch

Several beaches to walk to; beach bars; large selection of bars and restaurants. Pretty marina and various shops and supermarkets

Cala Galdana

A large beach in an idyllic setting, large hotel on the beach, others within walking distance, also lots self-catering apartments and villa’s. Lots of places to eat both restaurants and snack bars. One with a water chute. Various shops and restaurants. A very popular resort

Cala Mezquida

Conveniently near Mahon, beach bar and first class restaurant.

Cala’n Porter

Beach is a good size inlet from the sear, surrounded by cliffs, good walks along the cliffs. Lots of steps down/up to hotel’s, apartments and villa’s. A wide range of restaurants, snack bars, disco’s and supermarkets

Cala Morrell

A small rocky beach; a very quiet unusual setting; snack bar and restaurant.

Cala Santandria

Small enclosed beach with very safe bathing for children; several snack bars and restaurants

Cala Tirant/Playa de Fornells

Excellent beach; quiet area, new complex nearby with shops and restaurants, nice botanical gardens

Es Grau

A small fishing village, behind the large long beach is a conservation area with a fresh water lake. A couple of nice restaurants, which specialise in fish dishes. Very popular with walkers and ramblers

Punta Prima

Popular place with nice beach with a lighthouse. A good selection of bars, shops and restaurants nearby. Popular for water sports

Santa Thomas

A large beach which continues on from Son Bou and San Jaime, good for water sports. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants nearby

Son Bou & San Jaime

Wonderful long sandy beach with plenty of space, several beach bars restaurants and shops nearby. Nudist beach between Son Bou and San Jaime. Two water chutes at Club San Jaime. This is a very popular resort with beautiful villa’s set up from the beach

Son Parc

Very good beach with restaurant and bar on it. The sea is shallow for a long distance, excellent for families. The centre of Son Parc has a good selection of bars, restaurants and shops. You can walk on a path across the cliffs to Son Parc from Arenal D’en Castell. The only golf course on the island is at Son Parc

 

These are just a few of the better known beaches, but Menorca offers many more beautiful bays to be explored.
